America sweeps to medal success

America had clean sweeps of the medals in two categories of the ladies' super-G at the Winter Paralympics on Monday.

Sarah Will led home team-mates Muffy Davis and Lacey Heward in the LW10,11,12 category, while Sarah Billmeier, Allison Jones and Sandy Dukat were the top three in the LW2 category.

Canada's Lauren Woolstencroft took gold in the LW3,4,6/8,9 category, while Katerina Tepla won gold for the Czech Republic in the B2/3 category.

In the men's B1,2,3 category, Australia's Bart Bunting took gold ahead of Spain's Eric Villalon and Yon Santacana.

In the ice sledge hockey, free-scoring USA had a tough time but eventually beat Norway 2-1.

But Canada were held to a shock 3-3 draw by Estonia.

The world champions could even have lost, but an Estonian goal was not given in the third period when the Canadian net was dislodged.

The puck appeared to cross the line before the net moved.

Sweden beat Japan 4-2 in the day's final game.
