DOB: 03.01.78
Lives Falkirk, Scotland
Occupation: Butcher's assistant
Previous Olympics: None

Alpine skier, specialising in, downhill, slalom, giant slalom, super-G and combined

Ross Green's parents thought there had been a mistake when they saw their son had finished 15th in the combined skiing event at Salt Lake City.

But it was a genuine result and Green's performance boosted the rest of the team.

He made the Olympic qualifying criteria for Nagano in 1998 but was not selected.

Green began skiing when he was six-years-old at his local slope in Grangemouth.

He is an all-rounder and is ranked in the world's top 500 in four disciplines.
