Freestyle skiing, moguls

Sam Temple worked as a ski instructor for five years before taking up freestyle skiing.

He has been training with the Australian team for the past two seasons under the guidance of trainer Steve Desovich, who coached Olympic gold medallist Jean-Luc Brassard.

Temple finished 28th in the moguls at Nagano in 1998 and competed again at Salt Lake City despite a recent family tragedy.

He lost his concentration early on and finished 29th out of 30 competitors.
