POST-WINTER OLYMPICS VERDICT:

Anni Friesinger arrived in the middle of a phenomenal season and was widely tipped to win three golds, maybe even four.

She left with one.

Her victory in the 1,500m was achieved in world-record time and was celebrated in typical fashion in Germanyís Bild newspaper.

"Olympiaís most beautiful chest finally won," it said of an athlete who famously claimed that there was nothing sexier than a womanís bottom clad in lycra.

Friesinger was quick to counter such quotes in Salt Lake: "When somebody says that Iím looking good, that is a compliment, but what counts first are the results."

The only problem for her now is that things are looking better for her great rival Claudia Peechstein, who finished with two golds and two world records.
