South Korea broke the world record to retain their 3,000m Olympic short-track speed skating relay title.

The team of Choi Min-kyung Choi Eun-kyung, Joo Min-jin and Park Hye-won, overtook rivals China with eight laps to go in the 27-lap final to win in four minutes 12.793 seconds.

That time broke the world record of 4:13.541 by China at a World Cup event in Calgary last October.

China finished second in 4:13.236, while Canada won the bronze for the second straight Olympics in a time of 4:15.738.

Japan finished fourth at 4:21.107.
