Canada in seventh heaven
Danielle Goyette scores one of her two goals as Canada see off Russia
Goyette is on target twice as Canada rout Russia
Canada's women's team, runners-up in 1998, stayed on course for their second successive final with a 7-0 rout of Russia.

Boosted by two goals from Danielle Goyette, they recorded their second straight win to top Group A.

The Canadians, who are tipped to meet the US in the final, dominated from start to finish, with six different players scoring.

It was the second consecutive 7-0 romp for the Canadians, who opened the Games with a victory by the same scoreline over Kazakhstan.

Canada's goaltender Sami Jo Small faced only six shots, while Russia were bombarded by 60 efforts.

Russia, who had had hopes of the bronze medal coming into the tournament, must now battle it out with Kazakhstan to avoid the wooden spoon in the group.

"I think we're coming together," said forward Dana Antal who scored Canada's third goal.

"We want to work on finishing at the net and do everything we have to do to get to the gold medal game."

Canada next face a tougher test in Sweden who sit second in the group after hammering Kazakhstan 7-0.

Erika Holst claimed two goals and an assist for the Swedes, who go into Friday's meeting with Canada having won both their matches.

"I think that if you find a team that will play us tough and physical, that will be Sweden," said Canada captain Cassie Campbell.
