Review of UK weather on 09/11/09

It was mainly dry across the UK. However, there was widespread mist and fog during the first part of the day, particularly in southern parts of the country.

There was widespread frost during the morning in northern parts of the country, with some patchy frost further south. Overcast conditions in some areas kept temperatures low throughout the day.

The fog lifted into low cloud and lingered all day across parts of central, southern England and east Wales, but elsewhere it was a largely settled day.

Heavy rain moved eastwards across Northern Ireland during the afternoon and spread into the far west of Scotland by evening.

During the evening fog became widespread once again as low cloud spread across central and eastern England.

Rain spread further east to reach much of south-west England and Wales, western Scotland and parts of north-west England.
