Review of UK weather on 04/11/09

Showers continued in western areas into the morning with just an isolated one spreading further east. However, many Central and Eastern parts had a dry night with clear skies.

It remained mild along southern and western coasts, whilst turning chilly with a ground frost in some eastern areas. There was an air frost in parts of upland Scotland.

Frequent and heavy showers continued to affect Northern Ireland, Wales, Northwest England and West Scotland through the rest of the day, some with thunder.

The showers then spread eastwards into many other parts of the UK during the day, although just the odd one made it as far as Southeast England.
