Radio 4: Weather changes

From Monday 26th October you will notice a change in the way your BBC Radio 4 Weather broadcasts sound.

For the last two weeks on PM, BBC Weather has been piloting a more standardised format, using a set geographical path around the UK, with clear signposting of these areas, followed by time period and then the weather forecast for that area.

This makes it much clearer and easier for you to listen out your region and then hear the relevant weather. Clarity and above all memorable weather forecasts is key and this format offers an improved service to our audience. Following the successful trial, this format will be rolled out across the rest of Radio 4 Weather output.

Weather areas for Radio 4 broadcasts

To help you understand our new-style broadcasts, we have drawn up a version of the UK map which shows the geographical areas which the new BBC Weather bulletins will follow.
