BBC Weather Forecaster Louise Lear was born in Sheffield.

She graduated from the University of Middlesex in 1988 with a BA Hons in Music and Drama.

Louise's first job was as a Researcher for Children's BBC.

After this, she joined an independent radio production company as a Sports Presenter, introducing such events as Wimbledon and the 1992 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer.

She became a Weather Presenter at Central Television in Nottingham in 1992 and then worked for two years at LBC in London before joining the Weather Channel at its launch on cable and satellite in 1996.

Louise joined the BBC Weather Centre in April 1998.

Louise is married with two children and lives in London. She enjoys keeping fit, skiing, cookery and music. She plays the piano and clarinet and visits the theatre regularly.
