Football Vote: Who should be Man Utd's next boss?
![]()
Who is the best man to replace Sir Alex Ferguson as manager at Old Trafford? Martin O'Neill's name is the latest to be linked with the job of following in Ferguson's footsteps when he stands down next summer. O'Neill has enjoyed a spectacularly successful first season at Celtic, with League and Cup triumphs serving to bolster his already blossoming reputation as a top-class coach. So should he persuaded to swap Glasgow for Manchester? If not O'Neill, then perhaps United should look no further than current number two Steve McClaren, who has become a trusted and valued lieutenant at Old Trafford. His England experience has further boosted his credentials. Other names linked with the position include Roma boss Fabio Capello, who has in the past expressed his interest. And rival Premiership bosses David O'Leary and Arsene Wenger cannot be discounted, though Leeds and especially their fans would certainly resist any approach. Wenger's contract at Arsenal however expires at the end of next season - so do you think United should try and tempt the Frenchman from Highbury? Who would be the best man to replace Ferguson?
