Online 1000 figures: Foot-and-mouth
UK voters believe the government has coped well in dealing with the current outbreak of foot and mouth disease, but a majority also believes more needs to be done to support the farming community.
An ICM survey prepared for BBC News Online suggests that despite the crisis more than 60% of voters say the prime minister should go ahead with a spring election. A detailed breakdown of the survey results can be seen below. (Story first published 10 March, 2001.)
Prepared for BBC News Online by ICM Research Ltd. The BBC News Online 1000 will continue to give their opinions on political issues during the election campaign.
