The actor plays the al-Qaeda leader, dead, peeking out of a body bag, on the screen for a a short time.

Speaking on the Today programme, he said: "I think it was my biggest role to date. Not biggest in terms of actual part in the film, but biggest in terms of the story and how widely viewed it's going to be.

He added: "I had no idea what I was getting into, I hadn't seen a script and I had no knowledge of the extent of the role in the movie, so I prepared for any and every request."
