The UK has overtaken France and the US to become Germany's single biggest trading partner.
Talking to Today business presenter Lesley Curwen from Berlin, Ilya Nothnagel, head of international trade at the German Chamber of Commerce, said that German interest is "all about financial services".
Because of low interest rates, German people are "looking for some investments" and the "financial markets in the UK is very important to Germany", he explained.
