The Football Association is 150 years old today.

Big celebrations are being launched this morning and the great and the good of world football will be in the Connaught Rooms in London where the first board meeting of the FA was held.

The chairman of the FA David Bernstein told Today presenter John Humphrys that the FA "has been a fantastic success" over the past century and a half.

"The passion of English football is one of the reasons why it is so successful and envied by the rest of the world," he said.
