Why Irish are having 'a year long party'

The Irish seldom need an excuse for a party, but the government there has decided the time has come to offer them one, or rather, thousands of excuses for why they should get together.

They are calling it The Gathering and the hope (amongst other things) is that it will encourage people who have left Ireland in recent years because the economy fell off a cliff, to come home again.

Andy Martin reports from Dublin on what The Gathering will entail.
