The UK's relationship with Europe will be a key issue for the coalition as Cameron prepares to make his long-awaited speech on the subject.

Nigel Farage, leader of UKIP, told Today presenter John Humphrys that the party will be able to make the transition from being a single issue party to a mainstream political player.

"I'm odd in the sense that I'm a conviction politician… I'm here as a campaigner," he said. "We are a voice for good, ordinary people in this country."

"I want to free this country from the European Union," he added.
