Clearing up flood damage 'completely demoralising'

More than 800 homes have been flooded in the past few days and more flood warnings are in place.

Heavy rains are forecast for the north of England and Wales, but most of the flooding so far has affected the south.

BBC Somerset presenter Ben McGrail has been meeting residents of Taunton whose properties have been damaged.

Fiona Scott, who runs a local pub, told him: "We started a clean-up operation, and then back [the water] comes again.

"It's completely demoralising. Usually on Sunday it's a hive of activity... I've now got the unenviable task of calling all the people who've got bookings with us for Christmas and breaking the bad news."
