India's political barrier to economic growth

Economic expansion of India is one of the most important stories of our time, but how does a country of more than a billion people cope with the political challenge that comes with such rapid growth?

James asked a graduate at Nehru University in New Delhi whether India's political system needs to adapt. "Politics is the most important thing; it shapes everything around us," she told him.

"If there is a lot of corruption in politics they won't spend the money [on investment programmes]."
