'Economic momentum' aids Obama victory

What does Obama's victory mean for the US and global economy?

The economy was billed as the central battle ground and one thing worth reflecting on is that no one has ever won with unemployment as high as it is currently, so an impressive victory in that sense but not much time to celebrate - the US is hurtling towards the edge of a fiscal cliff - tax rises and spending cuts that come in automatically on 1 January.
