Viral videos 'are big business'


Millions of people across the globe watch and share funny amateur videos put up on YouTube and now those videos have the potential of generating six figure sums.

A new company called Viral Spiral specialises in turning videos that have gone viral on the internet into hard cash through licencing deals, arranging TV appearances and creating ad campaigns for big companies such as Coca-Cola and Samsung.

Its founder Damian Collier explained that campaigns can "sound funny but its big business".
