Art Review magazine publishes its Power100 list today, in which it ranks the 100 people it thinks most important in the art world.
The publication identifies a trend showing a shift of power from New York to London, defining the UK's capital as a global artistic hub.
Will Gompertz the BBC's arts editor explained that there is a general consensus in the art world that "If you don't have a gallery in London you are not really in the [art] game".
"Most people just can't be bothered with the American airport security" he said, highlighting one of the reasons for the change.
