It has been 40 years since Bryan Ferry released his debut single, Virginia Plain, with Roxy Music.
To celebrate the start of his fifth decade in the music business he has re-recorded some of his best known songs in the style of the 1920s.
Speaking to the Today programme, Ferry said he has recently been listening to a lot of music from the 1920s - music he describes as "raw, passionate and dynamic".
But Ferry said he's also a fan of contemporary music, and particularly likes a lot of the female singers currently in the charts.
"There's a lot of good girl singers that have been appearing in the last few years," he said.
"Lady Gaga brings a bit of theatre into music, as we tried to do in a small way in the early Roxy Music days."
