The winner of the Man Booker Prize is announced next Tuesday. In the run-up to the award, the Today programme will be meeting the six authors who have been selected for the shortlist.
The BBC's arts correspondent Rebecca Jones visited author Hilary Mantel at her home in Devon to talk to her about her book Now, Bring up the Bodies, the second novel in her trilogy about Henry VIII's chief minister Thomas Cromwell.
When asked whether she thought she could win the prize for a second time she replied "nobody, including me, expects a writer to do it twice
but it would not be human to not want to win".
