Ed Miliband will talk at the Labour Party conference in Manchester today and Labour's response to the government's welfare reform will be on the agenda.
Faced with reports of public attitudes hardening towards funding for social security, the shadow Department for Work and Pensions Secretary, Liam Byrne told Evan Davis that "social security today doesn't enjoy widespread support... but for many people nor does it offer much security".
Mr Byrne went on say that the chief focus for Labour is to "get as many people into jobs as possible
that's good for living standards, good for growth and good for tax".
