Former foreign secretary and lord chancellor Jack Straw's memoirs are published today, detailing his early life and his time in politics.
He told Evan Davis that during his adult life he fell into a "really serious" depression, which he discusses in the book, adding that he is glad to have spoken about it.
He also admitted to having a "slightly wacky childhood" and told the Today programme that you "have to be a bit mad to be a politician".
