The head of the Unification Church in the UK, Simon Cooper, has defended the movement - claiming it has "grown up" in recent years.

The leader of the church, Sun Myung Moon, died in South Korea yesterday, aged 92.

Cooper denied that the church - members of which are often called Moonies - was guilty of brainwashing and profiteering.
