Police believe Moors Murderer Ian Brady may have revealed to a prison visitor the location of the body of the only one of his victims not to have been found, Keith Bennett who was 12 years old when he disappeared.
Paddy Wivell, who directed a documentary for Channel Four on Ian Brady which led to the revelations, said that this is "some sort of victory dance, of power game" which is "part of Brady's pathology".
"We have to treat this with some sense of caution," he told the Today programme.
David Kirwan, the solicitor to Winnie Johnson, the mother of Keith Bennett, told Sarah Montague that the revelations "may give Winnie the closure that she's been seeking for so long".
"We need to treat this more seriously," he said.
