Disney/Pixar call on Scottish folk singer Julie Fowlis

A folk singer from the Outer Hebrides, who lives in the Scottish Highlands, was called up by Disney/Pixar to sing on the soundtrack for an animated film, set in 10th century Scotland.

Julie Fowlis, who performs two songs in Brave, said it "was a departure" to sing in English as she normally performs in Gaelic.

She said it was a "wonderful experience" to be part of the film - and she attended the Hollywood premiere for the film now on general release.
