Aussie gloom over gold medal drought

Australia has only won four gold medals so far in the Olympic Games.

From rowing to cycling, and swimming to the triathlon, some of Australia's smartest tacticians have been recruited by rival nations to boost their medal tally at the 2012 Olympics.

Australian sporting bosses are now reviewing the team's performances and hoping for a late gold rush.

Correspondent Phil Mercer reports on the Australian reaction, including comedians saying that the "rule book has been trashed" by other countries actually sending athletes to the Olympics.
