The chief executive of Circle, the private health company which took over Hinchingbrooke Hospital Trust in Cambridgeshire six months ago, said it has improved patient care by giving more responsibility to doctors and nurses and by looking at costs "much more sensibly".
Ali Parsa told the Today programme: "We mix entrepreneurial drive and vision with employee ownership."
The quality of the trust has become "one of the best in the country in six months" he said.
