People trying to flee Syria face snipers and roadblocks, and some were sheltering in schools and a university, the UN under-secretary general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator said.
Baroness Amos told the Today programme about the efforts to help them, and she said the fighting was not just in the largest city of Aleppo, as there were signs of renewed conflict in Damascus.
