A look back at 10 years of Botox injections

It is 10 years since Botox was approved for cosmetic use in the United States.

Consultant cosmetic surgeon Adrian Richards, believes there is a lot of "misconception about the sort of people who have these treatments" and it is "more widespread than we think".

He told the Today programme that it is a "very safe, effective treatment".

Author Natasha Walter believes Botox is "tied in to something that is quite negative".

"We don't see enough naturally ageing women in public life... a lot of women, when they get older, feel that ageing isn't celebrated and the best way to tackle it is to erase it," she told Sarah Montague.
