John Brock is chief executive of Coca-Cola Enterprises, one of the companies that bottles and sells the various fizzy drinks owned by the Coca-Cola Company, which owns the trademark and handles global marketing.
He is in the UK this week for Resource 2012, where some of the world's leading business figures have been discussing sustainability, which has become a big issue for Coca-Cola.
Speaking to business presenter Simon Jack on the Today programme, he said that Coca-Cola are at the "cutting edge" of sustainability and have put it "at the heart of everything" they do.
On the issue of their sponsorship of the Olympic Games, and whether the Coca-Cola brand fits in with the values of the games, Mr Brock says Coca-Cola is a "very appropriate product to consume as part of a total menu of diet products
as part of an active and healthy lifestyle".
