The outgoing chairman of Barclays Marcus Agius gave his evidence to the Treasury Select committee yesterday in a hearing that got quite heated.

Philip Augar, former group managing director at Schroders, says "the story is not so much about Bob Diamond anymore but it's about what happens to Barclay's future."

He told the Today programme's Business presenter Simon Jack that shareholders now face a "real dilemma" over whether they should split the investment side of the bank from the retail side.
