Scientists, farmers and representatives from the food industry are to meet ministers and government officials to discuss the future of agricultural technology in Britain.

George Freeman MP, who is chairing the meeting, believes the UK has a "huge role to play globally" in tackling the sustainable development challenge.
"Around the world the UK is viewed as a leader in agricultural science... and we have a duty to give the developing world" pesticide resistant crops, he told the Today programme.
