HS2 credibility 'has fallen apart'

According to the transport secretary Justine Greening, the government is going ahead with HS2, the high speed rail link from London to Birmingham.

Martin Tett, leader of Buckinghamshire council and chairman of the 51M alliance opposed to HS2, believes this is a "vanity project" and its credibility "has fallen apart".

He told the Today programme that Britain needs "massive investment" in existing road and rail infrastructure instead.
