Setting the Jubilee tone

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee has been celebrated throughout the country to widespread, although not universal, acclaim. Journalist and broadcaster Matthew Parris delivers his own hyperbole-free tribute to the Queen.

Also, the former Conservative MP and broadcaster, Gyles Brandreth and the Guardian's satirical cartoonist Steve Bell go head to head on whether the Jubilee is a genuine expression of love for the monarch, or a hollow exercise in public sycophancy.
