'Everybody wants to help the family'

Police in Derby have confirmed that a fire that killed six children from a single family on Friday was started deliberately.

Media coverage of the tragedy, however, has tended to focus as much on the lifestyle of the Philpott family as the appalling loss of life. But while the media has concentrated on some salacious details, local residents have rallied to the family's defence.

Tom Feilden went to Derby and spoke to Mikey Philpott, 14, the half-brother of the children who were killed in the fire.

He said "it's been really really hard for all of us. I didn't realise how close I was to them until they died".
