Does cross-pollination between GM and organic crops amount to "contamination"?

Lord Krebs, former chair of the Food Standards Agency, told the Today programme that contamination is a loaded word.

There is no evidence of human harm caused by GM foods, he says, so it doesn't matter if there is a low level of cross-pollination.

Pete Riley, campaign director of GM Freeze campaign, says there is a lot of uncertainty around the technology.

There should be more work done in the laboratory, he adds, before we introduce GM crops into the food chain.
