Martyn Day, senior partner at the law firm Leigh Day, told the Today programmes Justin Webb that Mr Jay's calmness "worked perfectly for the case". By letting people go off on tangents he has allowed people to "hang themselves," he explained.
Clive Anderson, a barrister who presents Unreliable Evidence on Radio Four, agreed but also pointed out that it might have been "more interesting if someone launched a more definite case against the Murdochs".
