Is hope waning in Afghanistan?


The last few months have seen little but bad news from Afghanistan - the massacre of civilians by a US soldier, the inadvertent burning of the Koran and then this week's attacks in Kabul.

Nato, whose defence and foreign ministers are meeting in Brussels, says the war is still on track, that Afghans will soon be able to take the lead in securing their own country.

But as Afghanistan correspondent Quentin Sommerville reports, such hopes may be optimistic.
