Norway's Heart of Darkness

Norway and its people are bracing themselves for what will be a shocking and disturbing reminder of one of the most difficult days in the country's history.

On Monday the trial of Anders Breivik, the man who admits to killing 77 people in a series of attacks in the country last summer, begins.

Breivik himself is expected to take to the stand all next week to give his version of events.

It is now clear that the police response to the attacks was too slow, something for which the authorities have apologised.

Europe Correspondent Matthew Price reports.
