The contest for the Republican presidential nomination in the US has reached a decisive moment, with the approach of Super Tuesday in which 10 states hold primary elections.
It is the day when frontrunner Mitt Romney could finally convince his party that he is the candidate who can win.
But if he falters, in the face of the unexpectedly strong surge from former senator Rick Santorum, his star will be seriously on the wane.
