The economic crisis has spawned a new wave of works of fiction examining the world of money and finance.
Author of On the Floor Aifric Campbell said that it is not surprising that writers are drawn to talk about "the drama of the economic crisis".
She said that stories of 1980s were about excess but now "we have the end of the cycle and the fallout".
Professor John Sutherland of the University College London agreed and said that "novels are a great educator" and this holds true with the drama of money too.
You have to simplify things to understand them, he went on to say, and this helps us analyse where we are and "what we have to fear"
