C of E 'brings stability to nation'


Communities Secretary Eric Pickles today moved to restore the legal basis for councils to hold prayers at the start of business. After the High Court ruled last week that local authorities could not hold prayers during meetings, Mr Pickles said today he was "effectively reversing" the judgment.

Jonathan Gledhill, Bishop of Lichfield and Sir Alan Beith, Liberal Democrat MP, debate if Christianity and public life be intertwined.
