Modern airships 'could lift 1,000 tonnes'


The military are now looking very seriously at using airships as a mode of transport, as are other organisations that need to access areas that do not have the infrastructure to cope with traditional modes of air transport.

Simon Jack speaks to Today programme Friday boss Gary Elliott, the chief executive of Hybrid Air Vehicles, about what an airship can do that a transport plane cannot.
