Concerns over medical device regulation

The chief executive of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Kent Woods, has said that the EU's system of regulation of medical devices does not necessarily need radical reform in the wake of the PIP breast implants furore.

Dr Peter Wilmshurst, a consultant cardiologist at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, gives his analysis of medical device regulation.
