Can scans diagnose mental illness?

According to new research, computer programmes can be taught to differentiate between the brain scans of healthy adolescents and those most at risk of developing psychiatric disorders, such as anxiety and depression.

Co-author of the research Professor Mary Phillips, from the University of Pittsburgh, outlines what they found.
