South Korea has 'lost influence' on North

The Korean peninsula is at a "turning point" and there are opportunities for change, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak said in a new year speech.

Aidan Foster-Carter, honorary senior research fellow in modern Korea says that President Lee of South Korea has "deluded himself" throughout his term in office and as a result South Korea has "lost its influence".
